My First Trip to Paris

During the 2022 spring break, I flew across the Atlantic to visit my sister in England. The last few days of my holiday, I decided that I wanted to go to Paris. I mean, I was RIGHT THERE! So I hopped on a plane and landed, for the first time ever, in the city that I've dreamt about for over 3 decades.

I arrived in the afternoon and the weather was perfect. It was a lovely spring day...the sun was shining and the sky was clear and blue. It was perfect! My Uber driver picked me up from the airport and took me to my flat. He was so kind and helpful. In fact, we are now friends! I've met his family and chat with him every so often through WhatsApp...moving on...the Airbnb was in the heart of Montmartre and was a stunning reno in a very typically Parisian building. My flat was on the 2nd floor (3rd floor - American) and was parfait for my very first experience in this magical city.

Just around the corner of my flat, was a bustling, picture perfect, Parisian street. Filled with boulangeries, patisseries, boucheries, and every other ~rie~ you can think of. Walking down the cobblestone streets, listening to everyone speaking French, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of Paris, I thought I had died and gone to Francophile heaven!

I spent a mere 36 hours in Paris before leaving to fly back to England, then back home. It was a dream to be able to do this and it lit a fire in me to travel more and experience life in my favorite city.

I will always remember how I felt when I arrived in Paris; like it was home.
